i have a r630 and mine is not in a perfect environment. its in my basement, but it hangs on a wall mount. i get easy access for cleaning and temperatures are mostly around 18°C and 30°C depending on if it is summer or winter. And humidity is around 70%. clearly not the best conditions but it works for 4 years now and gets cleaned once a year from dust. also i have a much older server that runs in this condition for 17years now. it gets replaced slowly by the r630. i mean 32gb ram and 4 1.2ghz cpus with 2 cores and no hyperthreading getting pretty old.
i did its job pretty well, but it's getting really expensive compared to the r630. the R630 uses 80w on idle and 82 with all services i had running on my old system my old system idles on 60W but used with all services 350W. i mean 82W vs 350W with the same services, yeah the R630 makes more sense.

Can you replace the main mother board with an R742 motherboard. Can one upgrade from an r630 to a r742 by swapping out the mother board ???
