The Best Triangle Setup

By far, my favorite setups for the triangle choke. This technique creates the dilemma between sweep and submission, resulting in the opponent having to remove their arm placement and create a route to the triangle. And if you’re wondering if it works well in the gi, the answer is yes, it works even better in the gi.

Spider guard and this are a couple setups I like.. I still use the same finish of flairing the locking leg you showed at the school I train at. It definitely helped my finish ratio.

This can work BUT against a strong or stronger opponent. The opponent's arm will not collapse as easily as her did when you put your knee / leg pressure.

Opponent will just Pass to the bent leg/knee side.
