Great video! I use Wix Studio, but have been testing out Framer and Webflow. So far, I'm staying with Wix Studio, but each platform has it's own strengthens/weaknesses.

Forgot to add Wix Studio gives you access to backend data and Velo (JavaScript ) via VSCode allowing you to create even more powerful workflows. On the front end though there’s more limitations than the competition: containers can’t have background images set, containers can’t have individual border width (you can use css but this should be baked into the ui builder), no filters (blur etc) just a lot of missing things that even Wordpress builders have built in.

Great video Derrick! I'm also a sort of Webflow dude but I wanted to check out Framer just with all the hype. The build experience itself was great, as you say, for someone knowing Figma! But what hasn't sat well with me is how they charge per seat meaning you can't collaborate with a client unless you buy 2 seats! No editor option or anything and I never experienced this before on other platforms. Hosting for a small biz site gets pretty hefty!! Awesome edits btw :)

I don't know if I sound ridiculous asking this but I haven't heard Wordpress Elementor mentioned in these topics and I don't know why? Wordpress used to be the default option, has it fallen that far behind other no-code tools?

I use WIX Studio, but I’ve found it has become more and more buggy and unreliable as they pump it full of AI and collaborative BS etc. my last project was a nightmare because Studio does NOT like Safari recent builds. I moved to Brave browser just to hit the deadline, but I still felt I was compromising.

Text heavy projects are, I think, a problem for all these no-code platforms, and if you’ve noticed, 99.9% of tutorials only ever show text being used in the “Headline + short paragraph + button” scenarios. Or descriptions for a t shirt.

But that’s not what most of the web is. Where are the tools that allow columns and text flow or inline text styles that don’t need CSS intervention. Or character styles?

I’m going to look at Framer again, cos WIX is all mouth and no trousers. Very slow feedback. Constantly having to reload crashed pages. Pain.
