I dont know about the U.K., but the U.S. has Hippa privacy laws. Liam would lose his license sharing a patient's medical diagnosis or records.

Aaron shouldn't have punched Liam that was extreme but at the same time it's Aaron's right to keep his diagnosis to himself but I suspect he was waiting until Chas was stronger after her mastectomy for the right time to tell her. Liam should not have told Chas as that wasn't his decision. Patient Confidentiality. I wouldn't appreciate that.
