Re-watching this, I realised that most of the time, Henry didn't do anything particularly wrong or out of the ordinary for a child of his age. His parents are really the horrid ones, constantly giving attention and praise to Peter while holding Henry to ridiculously unrealistic standards, mostly only giving him negative attention and shutting down his hopes and aspirations, while failing to properly teach him life lessons. Perhaps if they listened to him more or treated him with more respect, Henry wouldn't be so "horrid" as they tend to claim.

When I was younger, I loved reading all the Horrid Henry books from when I was 5, and when I heard that Horrid Henry was being made into a TV show, it was the greatest news 9 year me ever heard, I'll never forget how excited I was to see the first ever episode air (the Halloween trick or treat one) and how ecstatic I got when I first heard this theme.

I'm now 20 and hearing this reminded me of that day again, how I miss being a kid sometimes. Not all the times though.

As kids we saw Henry as the villian and a horried boy doing nonsense that we laughed at but now as teenagers, adults and older poeple in general we actually start understandimg him and his behaviour given his situation.
