Melon family likes sandy soil if you add plenty of compost. Warm roots and good drainage makes them happy in my experience.

How close together can you grow melons. I have been growing cantaloupe
for about four years now. In four holes about 16 - 18 inches around in a
15 x 10 foot area. I put about 3 plants in each hole and end up with
about 100 cantaloupe per season. interested in input on others results
problems with close planting melons like these

I water my cantaloupe once a day in the morning and I try not to get water on the leaves. They are prone to mold.Mine is a prolific climber.It likes to grow upward.

You're using miracle gro? Your channels name is "organic" gardening. That stuff has chemical fertilizer in it. I've always stayed away from anything miracle grow. There are other options. Thank you for sharing, though.

That ground looks in dire need of a lot of mulch!...maybe you could water twice a week instead of twice per day.

I soaked mine and so far it flowered. Now I’m praying the deer and wabbits don’t eat them. I used potting soil. You can water them with a bottle of water from the sink.
