Thanks, I have a ER7206 that doesn't have a built in DDNS server connect to it DHCP server. Any way to get a remote/cloud DNSMasq to auto update from DHCP server? Something every cheap Linksys/Netgear router can do out of the box.

I'm confused. Why do you need to put every client to the DNS server in your /etc/host file? Shouldn't dnsmasq do that for you? Wouldn't that be the point of setting this up?

Hi Joe, great video, at 6:48, you put in name-1 and server-2 into /etc/hosts, is there any way to avoid that? Can dns-masq pick up that info from each client's hostname + IP address instead? Ideally I don't want to manually enter in every new system in my home lab into my /etc/hosts on my nameserver?

Big greetings. Thanks for the excellent tutorial. I have a question. How do we allow the dnsmasq to respond to devices that are not on its local network? I hope for a quick answer. Thank you a lot. :)
