I thought that stage 2 went really well, where the heck could I have saved 8 entire seconds?? ๐Ÿ˜…

Was Milton narrating a youtube video while racing? I think not. Dale for the win.

Love putting in lots of laps. I progress really quickly when I focus really hard on something, and just do endless repetitions. Sometimes this is no fun, like with manuals, which I still can't really do. But sometimes it fucking rocks. I spend as much time as possible at Northstar bike park in Tahoe. It's a very gnarly, very loose, sorta poorly maintained park (especially for how much the lift tickets cost, more than Whistler, and owned by the same resort chain!), but it's the best and easiest to get to in California.

I was there this last Sunday, and I decided to really focus on the trails at the first summit, which most people don't ride much, preferring to take one of two other lifts to other summits where there are more and more famous trails. But one of the trails at the first summit, Mineshaft, is like the whole park in one trail, big hard berms, small dusty berms, big jumps, braking bumps, and a few super steeps, and an exit through the dirt jump park as well, which is such a killer chef's kiss at the end.

I rode that probably 20 times in Sunday, and by the end I was clearing almost everything and carrying crazy speed on my short-travel bike. Hugely rewarding, would recommend.

Great riding as usual. I was just wondering if you've ever had any training or just figured it out yourself.

Been away and have a couple of Dale Stone vids to catch up on - this is the first. All I can say is that Iโ€™ve seen almost all of your posted YT videos, and I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ve ever seen you ride faster than on Stage 2. I know youโ€™ve ridden those trails a ton over the years (Iโ€™d bet in the triple digits with the first digit possibly not a 1), but that was still quite literally insane and mind blowing to this very below average and, sadly, now only occasional rider. Congrats to you for what must have been a PB. But even more insane, how did Milton beat you by 8 seconds? For the life of me I canโ€™t imagine where any time could have been shaved from the run you posted.

Edit: 3 videos!

Do you have any vids of these trails in a non race setting? Those closed features looked sick! Great riding as always too!

I bet you would beat me on the trail I built the first time you rode it.

Why do enduro races have the goofy wrist touch timing systems vs. a chip on the fork and timing mat? Perhaps there's a good reason, but it seems like the wrist touch is a scheme to reward some antiquated timing company, as well as to make racing a bit more stressful (and race times inaccurate).

I was thinking this was pretty chill until stage 3. Yikes!
