I loved one explanation that said the squeezed points release a hormone that is present in all in utero foals that keeps them less active in the womb, that hadn't been "switched off by the squeezing of labour, then restimulating it with the Madigan Squeeze."A brilliant technique developed by Dr John Madigan, It's almost magical.

How fantastic.  I only heard about this method last year after we lost a foal.  While I don't ever want to experience "dummy foal' again, it is so good to see this 'treatment' working.

You can see that the mare is concerned, then relieved. Too many foals die from this and it's good to know the technique to help.

The reaction when she stands says it all. It is kind of a reset of her whole body that frees her from being groggy and unbalanced.

Pretty amazing!Can't wait to try it on calves. Especially ones that have been breach births and have been pulled quickly!

WOW - that is amazing...but how does the compression of the rope on the body cause this very important correction in neurological function...I gotta tell you when I started watching I was very concerned for this little one.. but what a positive outcome....magic...!!!

I am wondering what was affected by the rope and why it works neurologically  Anyone done studies on that?  We have in the human world with autistic individuals a weighted blanket and Grandin developed a "squeeze machine" for herself to help her calm.  I'd be interested in reading more about this.
