This is about johnny come lately US billioinaires and companies like Nike, none of whom had any significant role in football from 1860 - 2000, thinking that they now rule football. They don't rule football, they rule a business that purports to call itself football. Football is a sport supported by fans, it is not a business frequented by customers. I simply don't understand why anyone wastes time deferring to Americans who have zero to teach sports about sport, even if they have much to teach about cartels, profits for failure and franchises leaving communities because they don't care about the social captial of a sports club, all they care about is making money.

The most important thing about the EPL is that Americans cannot start to say who is a fit and proper owner. They want 20 American owners in a league without relegation, that is painfully obvious. Regulation by the UK Government must make it quite clear that clubs are NOT leaving their home towns/cities to please US robber baroins. They are not moving cities as a franchise. They will be zero public subsidies for billionaires expecting others to build stadia for them. There will not be American coaches and players foisted onto the EPL unless their standards match the best in the world.

Americans did not 'make the EPL successful', they bought into it because it was already so successful that it put the inward-looking US sports to shame in terms of its global appeal.

The stadia were full of English fans, not American fans and that is why the Americans bought in. Now they want to deny English fans what has been their social heritage for 150 years and more. They are going to have to be told that that is totally unacceptable.

the love of god don’t play premier league games here! If we want to watch a premier league game live we should have to get a passport and book a flight.

WTF. We are not in the 1990's!
People at games are watching and betting on other games on their phones.
They haven't even allowed games to be shown on TV btw 3-5pm on a Saturday in the UK.
They haven't even built a "Netflix" style channel for the premier league ( its 32 years old).
No-one needs to leave the country for the Premier League to make more money.

Play the epl games in England. Some stadiums aren't fit for epl games overseas. Just don't do it. I'm in the US. But keep the games in England.

These are england's tourist attractions. If US want to watch the game live, they need to travel to watch it. Should the americans bring the statue of liberty here, so we can see it 😂😂

Boxing, golf, football. Even snooker is getting moved to Saudi Arabia. Royal Ascot, Wimbledon and the British Grand Prix will be held there within a decade!

Idea - Play the Community Shield abroad as it’s a competitive game. To compensate for the loss of a UK Community Shield, deduct £50k from each Premier League team's prize money and donate to those causes

If this gets remotely close to happening the fans need to protest even more than they did over the superleague, and they should boycott games.

All greed. Pure greed and it’s killing the game

The US single handedly nearly destroyed the Copa Amerca. An intense love of money over love of sport is bound to leave only one thing standing. The world cup is next. The amount of teams increasing in that completion does not mean more thrills or greater quality. It means greedy people are ready to destroy the beautiful game.

Where were all these rich owners 30 years ago? Business men arent in the buisness of losing money. There's usually an end goal. Now we see FFP coming into effect and talk of super leagues and taking the game abroad? Do the math. These business owners are trying to reshape how clubs are run because of their profiteering

League games should only be played in their respective countries. Even fans of these clubs who live abroad don’t want it elsewhere.

I couldn't see league games mid way through the season working overseas, but maybe the first game of the season? If man united and arsenal were both in the USA for pre-season and the premier league made sure they played eachother first game of the season then it wouldnt be an issue, theyd just stay a little bit longer in the USA.
Season ticket holders could choose to have a ticket to the game or receive some money back.

Well look if they play all the premier league games in other countries, all over the world Manchester United would never need to build a new stadium, they would be delighted with that.

The rights fees market is drying up for sports. The next revenue stream are from countries bidding for hosting rights (see WWE and UFC holding events in perth australia / Taylor Swift in Singapore for example). Clubs have to pay the piper. You earn so much from overseas fans to afford the big players, now its time to repay their favor.

They can also explore expanding the league to 21 teams and hold the additional 2 home and away fixtures overseas, increasing squad sizes.

For every additional new "problem", clubs will find a solution. The managers should relish that challenge since they are now so highly paid and have so many people in their backroom staff like analysts and throw in coaches.

If they could adjust for the league pause during the Qatar World Cup, they can adjust to anything. Remember the initial EPL had 22 clubs for the first 2 seasons.

Put the league cup QFs and SFs on somewhere else. Exciting games with jeopardy. Only problem is if a lower league team has an unlikely cup run. Bradford City in Miami, wow!

I've been to Thailand. They weren't watching the games...
