COOL Scenic ThyssenKrupp Hydraulic Elevator @ HOM Furniture in Rochester, MN

A 3 floor furniture store?! Yes you are reading that right. This HOM Furniture in Rochester is three floors, and even has a small atrium! To go in between floors, you can take the stairs or this super cool glass ThyssenKrupp elevator! This thing is super cool. It has an epic motor (that sounds like a Chewbacca motor!), it's almost fully glass, it offers a nice view of the store, and overall it runs very well! The cab almost reminds me of a MEGA Menards elevator, except those don't have carpet, and those are usually Signa4. The Dover Buzz is so loud that you can hear it outside of the elevator lol.

Fun fact, this store is on the site of the former Donaldson's department store, which opened in 1953. The store became Carson Pirie Scott like every other Donaldson's, but even after they left Minnesota this store continued to operate as Carson's until they moved to Apache Mall in 2001.

This place is definitely on my bucket list for when I am back in MN sometime. And yea, this thing does seem to be Menards-like except it has a Chewbacca motor and dang that thing is slow for 3 floors, even for a TK. And I thought for sec this elevator made me think that this place used to be a Mega Menards, but nope, and now I can't seem to get that joker out of my head lol.
