Please do a class about electricity. I get lost when YouTubers start rattling off about car batteries, wattage, inverters, cables and solar panels. I'm afraid of blowing up the car!
Thanks for helping me out!

I'm about 6 months from being debt free so I'm watching. I've lived as a homeless Vet in my van under the worst of my PTSD period which is finally dissipating so I have experience with the hardships. You teach me how and I'll bring my kindness and compassion to our van dwelling community. Thanks Bob for all you've done so far as I've subscribed to your channel and watched you for a few years now. Thanks again.

I'm 59 years old and finally gave my notice at where I'm living to go full-time van life. I bought an 08 ford E350 econoline extended hightop van, ex handicap van. The floors are perfectly flat, ideal for the bed, cabinets, etc. I made $160k last year as a union crane operator in the SF bay area oil refineries. Now I can save ALL of that money. I don't have any other debt besides my phone and vehicle insurance. I looked at 4 wooded acres in east Texas yesterday for $60, 000. Lots of open areas too besides the trees. That will be my home base when I'm not working in California. In the meantime. I'll be staying in my van by my jobsites til then and go to the gym after work and I'm close to the beaches and mountains in Northern California to hike and enjoy nature. I have a huge sense of peace that washed over me as I'm getting ready to go van life full time. I even got motivated today and worked out at the gym hard, something that i haven't been doing because of depression and anxiety from feeling stuck in my routine. Now I feel like I have freedom.

I love Bob Wells, and his message. He's not trying to brainwash or sell you anything. He simply wants people to know that there is an alternative to living, and that you don't have to follow what society deems you to be a success(owning a house, and having a six figure salary). I'm very happy I discovered this channel.

During a stressful time in my life I went to a campground and spent a week alone. It cost me almost nothing for a week rent and I spent the week amongst the autumn leaves with only 6 other spots taken in the off season campground. I plan on going nomad next year and I know I can live off $1000 a month saving the rest for emergencies and van repairs.

When I was no longer able to afford housing and moved into my van I was very depressed and grieved my former life. Almost 5 years later and I am feel truly blessed to live so freely as a solo woman nomad and with the cutest little home on wheels ever! I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way now. Don’t be afraid….there’s a huge supportive community of us out there and you are a lot more resourceful and resilient than our former lives ever allowed us to be! ❤

I love it how Bob hasn’t pimped his vehicle to match his earnings from YT. He’s one of the most authentic people alive on this entire planet.

Living in a car/van is a lot easier when you’re healthy than when you’re not. And if you’re talking about seniors, I can’t imagine somebody with even early onset dementia faring well living in a vehicle.

I worked my rear off for 35 years while taking care of 3 daughters on my own. In 2019 I lost my management job and then was forced to sell my home. I rented a house at $1600 a month and lived off of house sell $ and started my own business. Then Covid hit. I was forced to close my business for a few months and again had to live off of savings. Last year my rent went up to $2300 a month. I moved my things into storage (what I didn’t sell) and am staying in a small room at my daughter’s house. I’m in disbelief. There are months my business doesn’t even break even. And my savings are almost gone. So this is where I am!! I’m finding out there are many of us! And jobs for people in their 60’s in Virginia aren’t out there much. This van life will be my next step! I have no choice. This is scary!

Imagine being told you're only getting $255 a month social security because I didn't work enough because I chose to spend part of my life raising my children, this world is upside down. Now I gotta work the rest of my life and I'm 62 now.I am definitely getting a vehicle and doing van life very soon.

I sold my home 7 months ago and was able to cash out a cheaper home in another part of my state. I am mortgage free and completely debt free. I no longer have to work 5 to 6 days a week anymore. I still had to get a job working weekends at my local McDonald's to help pay my utilities, taxes, insurance and food. I'm trying to get to the point where in the not too distant future I can purchase a used Pleasure Way RV, rent out my home and start my nomadic life on the road. I have been watching your videos for years now and I really enjoy them. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Its all about perseption. You can make it work with the goal of saving money. But if you cling to what you gave up you will give up and become depressed. Remember, you can still have a good life even living in a vehical. It dosent take your choses away it just restructures your choices. Prception is the key.

Wise words, Bob! I’m someone who is still in my working years at a great company, working a great remote job that doesn’t suck the life out of me, yet over the last 3 years, my company has laid off thousands of workers. In an attempt to future proof my safety and security, I sold my house and just bought a van to build out into a campervan. Because of all you’ve shared and taught over the years, I don’t have any fears about getting out on the road and still being able to work my remote job until it possibly goes away. That peace of mind is priceless! Thanks for all you do!

I’m 21 and my mom tells me she’s tired of working and she’s 64. And i get it, I’ve had a few jobs in the past and i hated them. I was constantly tired all the time. I wasn’t happy. I want to be free and live my best life while i still have time. When it’s time for me to go home, i want to at least say I’ve done everything that i wanted to do and be free in nature. Not wishing i could have done things differently.

I can think of no one who has offered so much hope to so many who have so little hope than Bob! These are hard decisions he offers us to make, but the encouragement he gives along with solid advice really helps! Nomadland is a wonderful movie, I have watched it many time, but I got a hell of an idea for some movie maker out there, make a film about our friend Bob! How he came to be the man we all admire today, and how he shows us the deeply held love he has for humanity, that he expresses with every new post! I will buy a ticket to see that!
