Live interactive mega billboard against agression

Public service employees in the Netherlands face aggression and violence on the streets more and more often. Onlookers unfortunately do not intervene often enough when they encounter a situation like this. A live interactive billboard in Amsterdam and Rotterdam is used to place people in a similar situation witch confronts them with their inactivity.

I work in EMS myself - it happens more often than you think, though it doesn't always make the news. There are people who try to hit ambulances with cars, there was a guy who hijacked an ambulance and tried to hit medics with it, there was a crazy cop who stabbed a firefighter and medics, etc.

Świetny sposób na to by przyzwyczajać ludzi do patrzenia się na przemoc, pokazywania ja palcem, robienia zdjęć, uśmiechania się, cichego komentowania miedzy sobą i nie robienia niczego. Kolejny ekran, z którego wysyłane są obrazki przemocy. Tym razem prawie interaktywna. Niby, żeby uczulić.
Bardzo wątpliwa kampania społeczna. Efektowny niewypał.

Love this new public safety campaign, other governments could take a lesson from it. It reminds me of some new approaches to dealing with school bullying in the US - realizing that bullies and the bullied will always exist, there are now attempts to increase bystander awareness and willingness to intervene. Good stuff.

I wonder, if this campaign is going to work!? People passing by seem to be entertained by any kind of movie sequence. They seem to enjoy the action rather than beeing concerned about "their" behaviour. ^^ But it's definitly a good thing to point at the problem and make it public... I like it, anyway. ;-)
