⁴ᴷ 9/11 2022 - Tribute

Показать описание
21 years ago, the twin towers of the World Trade Center were mercilessly attacked by terrorists, whom of which hijacked 2 passenger planes, and set off on a suicide mission to hit and collapse both of the giant buildings. Today, what remains of ground zero is in itself now a memorial and a reminder of those who risked their lives and those who had their lives taken by such a tragedy, holding a museum that holds artifacts and remnants of what used to be, and two massive square spaces in the ground that were where those towers once stood tall and proud as two staples of NYC. Today, what instead replaces these two huge landmarks of buildings is now instead only 1 building, as grand as can be and the tallest in the city, the Freedom Tower - or the One World Trade Center. The impact that this terrorist attack put on our city affected not only the surface, but many of those who were travelling beneath the surface, as well as those who were working just below where the events unfolded. Various subway surfaces as it happened became emergency getaway grounds, with the trains present acting as peoples last sources of transportation to escape the area in order to avoid inhaling smoke and being stuck. Two stations specifically, which ended up being completely destroyed by the point of collapse, World Trade Center for the PATH, and Cortlandt Street on the 1 and now-discontinued 9 line. As of 2018, Cortlandt Street has been reopened, and rebuilt in tribute to 9/11 and the events that unfolded that caused Cortlandt Street to be in shambles, covered by rubble, and unfortunately crushing anybody that had stood in that same station at that unfortunate time. Some of these locations that were affected the most appear in this video. #mtasubway
