At last a video which is only 3.41 mins long. ive been trying to access my plex outside my network for days and found this video and followed your instructions and it worked on mycloud home and bt wifi here in the uk and i can now access my media outside of my network cheers :-)

Thank you! This was easy to follow and fixed my issue after getting a new router. I am using an nvidia shield tv pro as my server and didn't need to configure that to static IP for this to work. I left IP settings on DHCP. Cheers

Dude thanks so much. So many sources on the web had me thinking I had to meddle in my pc ipconfig settings and change things in there. It was so much more simple than I though!

So the internal IP address is the device where the server is running from ? In this case my Mac.. I did not see it on the list.

I have had the same problem for awhile but i found my problem, the problem was in my router, since i am using my server wirelessly and have several other devices with Plex connected on the same network when i tried to port forward the server from my main device i would get the (remote access error and it would flash for a second and quit) the problem was in my router i had given Plex port permissions but I was assigned to the wrong device, so i named all of my devices and rebooted my modem/router and went back to port forwarding and in the forward permissions section I selected Plex Media Server and selected the correct host device and added it, and after retrying to connect to plex WahLah everything went green. So the short thing to check would be, is the Server assigned to the correct device in the router? P.S. I changed nothing in the Plex App itself
