regarding the gel glitter if we are going to call colourpop a copycat then i think we all owe 2000-2005 Claire's an apology. They had it first. lol

Glitter gel has been around for decades. It was huge in the 90's when I was little, and I'm sure it was around long before that.

Honestly. . .I thought these type of glitters existed in Hot Topic and Claire's ever since I was a little girl. Sure, it's probably better quality from all brands, but I highly doubt that it didn't exist before them. Plus, like you said, that Model's Own one or whatever it was called was basically a third one in the mix that was similar, yet they're being cut throat at Colourpop?
I feel like they may be mad about it, but they're making a big fuss about it to garner attention and sympathy for their indie brand.
Plus, like others say, I feel like this is the least of people's problems right now.

I’m kinda confused to be honest like when everyone on planet earth started making liquid shadows after stila, nobody accused those companies of stealing? This controversy makes no sense

I honestly don't understand this... Colourpop did not do the exact dupes for cheap. When you go to the Makeup Revolution website, you actually see the knockoffs for Too Faced, Kat Von D, KKW and so much more! They actually look the same and duplicate the exact colors and layout. But here it's just a tub of glitter. No exact color dupes. I think they don't own this concept of makeup. It's like Hourglass, Tarte and Marc Jacobs have the same cream shadows in the little pot. Does this mean that only one of them has the right to produce this type of product? They also have similar packaging and formula. But I'm sorry, I don't think so.

Listen, every girl from the early 2000s had to create the space paste using chapstick or hair gel with glitter mixed in so really, who is the victim here

Revlon made the first **tube** of mascara. Does that mean every other brand today is a copycat? It's just makeup in the end.

Some company I've never heard of is mad another company made something that's been around since the 90s? Do I have the controversy correct?

I think if there was no “copycat” products there wouldn’t be much selection in the makeup world. There has to be a first for everything but wouldn’t the world be boring if there was only 1 brand that made liquid lipstick or 1 brand that made mascara or 1 brand that made a makeup sponge. The products don’t really look like identical colours or formulas to me from what I see in the swatches.

I hate to tell the owner of lemonhead this, but these types of glitter gels are not exclusive to them. About 8 years ago I bought a similar but better glitter gel from a sex shop. So you did not start the trend.

I don't really think they copied... brands come out with the same crap all the time. Everyone has a rose gold highlighter, everyone has a warm toned palette that looks exactly the same.

I don’t think lemonhead invented glitter lmao

i think the fact that lemonhead tries to “expose” colourpop for a trend that they didn’t even create is beyond me. they’re completely different products, consistency and glitter size. i think it’s even unnecessary that tati is even talking about this. they don’t deserve the clout.

saying other brands can’t create similar products is ridiculous. imagine having only one brand for each type of product, it’d be a mess.

Lemonhead aren’t the first to make those glitters and they wont be the last. They need to get over it.

Yeah beauty blender should sue about everyone if we’re following this logic. The point is that people will buy the products they think work the best from the companies they like the most and fit their lifestyle. It’s not like Lemonhead was about to release a product and then color pop found out and did it faster because they were richer and bigger.

Also, I remember using glitter gels in the 90's. Not a new concept at all.

I've been buying glitter gels for over 15 years. So unless lemonhead was the absolute original I'm not sure why the big fuss.

A company complaining about an $8 glitter is a complete waste of their time. I would rather spend $8 than $22 on glitter.

Lemonhead is the name of a candy so if we really talking about stealing.... 🤷🏽‍♀️ smh.
