I like the fact that Dr. Grande doesn't assume that we know how to use Excel or know where the functions are. I like that in every video, Dr. Grande walks you through how to attain the option on the ribbon and where to find it. This video is helpful to know that I would be able to compare tests and find the correlation between them.

I like that this video showed multiple tests and how to tell if the test is appropriate for the data.

It was helpful to watch him calculate the correlation coefficient. I also liked how he broke down the different strengths of the correlations for all of the different fictitious instruments (i.e. 1 strong, 0.5 moderately strong, 0.3 weak, and so on). It was also a nice reminder to have the coefficient of determination explained briefly, especially when you calculate it for a negative correlation coefficient and the negative sign drops.

I appreciate that Dr. Grande shows multiple ways in which to find certain tools in excel. When designing an instrument it is important to see how strongly the correlation is in relation to the test.  Covariance and correlation is two very distinct terms. Covariance specifies the comovement between variables. I was surprised to see a covariance tab in Excel.

I briefly recall learning this in my undergraduate course. However, it is something that I don't remember well enough without this video as a refresher. I always appreciate the step-by-step breakdown during your videos, as well as the visual representation, as they both make things easier for me to follow. Overall, this was a beneficial video to demonstrate how to calculate a correlation coefficient.

Thank for the video Dr. Grande. I like the break down of what is considered a small or medium correlation and positive or negative correlation. It helps in explaining what the information is telling us.

I can remember just a bit of this from statistics in my bachelors program. So much to still learn from these videos. Learning to calculate the correlations in standardized results was something that I was not aware of.

Dr. Grande- Thank you for allowing me to understand correlation and covariances. This information was helpful and I look forward to using this video as a resource to brush up on my calculations.

Correlation and covariance are often confused, but to find out if the instruments covary together calculate the correlation. Okay. Thank you for the video Dr. Grande.

There were a few things that I liked about this video. The first being the explanation of the difference between covariance and correlation. I think that these two concepts are easily confused and it was great to start the video off with an explanation of the difference. I also liked the explanation of the different size correlations and what a good correlation size is. Made it easier to understand what we were looking at.

Understanding how to calculate correlational coefficients is so important in order to represent the direction and degree of the relationship between the variables being studied.

Helpful refresher of the difference between covariance and correlation. The video did help me to understand how to find a correlation coefficient between different tests.

This was a great refresher video on Calculating a Correlation Coefficient Using Excel. Much of the information I had lost due to lack of practice. Once again I enjoyed the voice instructions, as well as the visual representation; I wish I had these references in my previous education when first learning the concept.

Correlation in excel is used to calculate scores. For example, this can be used for  measuring depressive symptoms. An analysis tool pack would have to be used to display one's results. One should be looking for a test that scores strongly when calculating a correlation co-effcient. This video explained a lot of information about correlation and covariance...good video!

This is a process that I struggle a bit with. The explanations were thorough and well explained, the amount of information was a tad but overwhelming.

This video was helpful in providing more knowledge on how to find a correlation coefficient between different tests. As some of my classmates have mentioned, I also appreciated the explanation on the difference between correlation and covariance.

This video was useful in defining correlation and demonstrating how to determine the correlation among various testing instruments. I think it is beneficial to understand how well each test correlated with the established instrument, which could then provide insight into which test is most appropriate and helpful to use.

I vaguely recall this concept and process from my undergraduate studies. However, I feel as though this video was helpful given the real life application of use in the selection of an appropriate testing instrument.

I had never heard of the term covariate since now so this video was helpful in learning the difference between correlations and covariates.

I like that we are able to compare multiple tests and the correlation between them, that can be very helpful in research when deciding which testing instrument to use. When the data is standardized it helps to better compare the different tests used.
