The first goal for MLS was by Mexican player Carlos Vela, assisted by Diego Palacios from Ecuador, and the second was on a penalty kick by Raul Ruidiaz from Peru due to a foul committed by MX on Carlos Gil from Spain.

It was an entertaining game to watch and analyze. Liga MX had better scoring opportunities, but failed to score. The referee did miss a handball in the 85th minute, that would have favored Liga MX with a potential equalizer. MLS is undoubtedly growing; however, Liga MX holds the upper hand for the following reasons: 20 out of the last 22 CCL have been won by Liga MX teams; Leagues Cup, Campeones Cup, All-Star games are played solely in MLS stadiums, which gives an advantage to the host team. If the MLS wins the CCL, which is the most important club tournament in the region, during the next editions, that's when fans can say they have surpassed Liga MX. For now, the gap is closing between the two leagues, but Liga MX still holds dominion in Concacaf.

Fantastic and highly entertaining game, which is primarily the reason these sort of matches are organized. MLS played well and took their chances but I do believe liga mx was the better side in general during the 90minutes. I also believe there should have been a penalty called in their favor.

I used to be a Liga MX fan until LAFC was announced. I started following MLS and now I’m so into MLS that I hardly watch Liga MX games . MLS is on another level now, more competitive. Can’t wait for the next little World Cup next year MLS vs Liga MX .
