Показать описание
The Iberian pig is a traditional breed that is native to the Iberian Peninsula. It's ranged freely raise in sparse oak forest. They are constantly moving around and therefore burn more calories than confined pigs. This, in turn, produces the fine bones typical of this kind of jamón ibérico. Most expensive jamon on the world

What I like most is that all of the animals are treated humanely and they are very happy I haven't heard of this breed before but im glad I did

Even though they are turned into meat its great that they lived on a free range farm where they can run rather than in cages, they lived a nice life before they are turned into ham

Ques: 'Why are they so expensive?'
Ans: 'They live a charmed life...from Pen to Pasture to Pantry!'
Ans 2: 'Then they get their 'Chops' busted...LOL

So raw dry aged pig leg for up to $4, 500? What exactly do they keep layering on it to stop it from molding? And I saw mold anyways almost toward the end, they just cut it off or what? How doesn't it rot from the inside?

Good life, good food, independent of clutches, freinds indont get offended to get butchered after this
Noal are unique in their content too jovial at the same time they bring a known plot that bring tear in my eyes

50 yrs ago I went to work at my uncles hog farm...
My first job was to build a fence that encompassed 55 acres of an oak tree forest..
Many timber co's offered him a huge amount of money for the standing timber..
Nothing doing..
Once the fence was completed, he turned out 150 female hogs that were already bred..
Mind you, this was a forest that had never been farmed ..
We built pens they could get in when they had their litters .
But they were open pens...
The first month, we didnt feed them a single grain ...
But mineral troughs were scattered throughout...
Second month, no feed..
It went on like this thru late winter when we had to add feed ..
After 3 yrs, my uncles hogs were sought after by grocery chains & individuals .
People put their orders in 6 mo in advance..
The grocery chain wanted more than he could supply ..
So, he purchased an additional 45 acres that joined his original 55..
But, he didnt fence it for 10 yrs .
In the meantime he planted thousands of oaks & walnut tree's ..
Then he expanded parts of the forest & closed other areas..
When he was ready to retire, neither of his sons wanted any part of the hog farm..
I think its because they were put to work at a young age & there were no days off...
He retired & sold all his hogs...
He's 87 yrs old now ...
He was able to retire with a very comfortable bank acct..
I had never heard of hogs raised on acorns until now..
