Gauntlet 4 would have been much better if it included Gauntlet 2 assets, without the starvation mechanic. it's basically Gauntlet 1 story mode. I liked it when I first played it in 1996. It was the first port that was almost arcade perfect. I wish the later sequels retained the original mechanics. The 2014 remake is Diablo with less loot and has lost the fluidity, the pacing and the awesome sound design. MAME is pretty good. Revision 7 is the version to play. No starvation mechanic.
