Sega Saturn Controller Repair [SH ep.37]

A cut cord on a Sega Saturn controller. This repair is a universal type repair so it could pertain to a stiuation with any controller with damage on the cord nearest the controller body (not the plug end).

Thanks! This is the BEST controller I ever used and my go to controller for all my fighting games. I love to learn more on how to keep them in good condition/repair since it is getting harder and harder to get one in good condition now.

my controller only works the arrow side, the right side doesn't work (all 6 buttons). I checked the continuity but some are messed up, are they supposed to be messed up?

Great video. None of my Japan Saturn controllers has that kind of capacitor yours has under CE symbol. But all of them working perfectly. Does anyone know what is that for?. Thx

Do you by any chance know how to repair the shoulder button? the left one works but you have to press on it very very hard to activate it. I don't know how to repair a micro switch button like that. Just let me know, thanks.

I have a US Saturn controller that has semi broken bumpers that are stuck yet still register as being depressed do you have a fix for that?

On a side note, I always add weight to lightweight game console controllers. Sega controllers are really lightweight and I prefer my system controllers to be weightier and feeling more substantial. The PS2 Dual shock is around 200grams and to me it feels a perfect weight, so I pop the backs of my Sega controllers and glue in weights to the flat plain back panel in areas that aren't in the way of anything. The weights are pennies and steel ball bearings carefully glued solidly into place, until the weight is 200grams. Try I love the feel so much I can't not do it! I'd have been ok with it if manufacturers built in dead weights into their controllers just for the extra quality feel, nothing ridiculous, just around the 200-220gram mark.

Sega released a Sega Saturn PS2 gamepad years ago, but they are rare and insanelly expensive.
