Porsche has the ignition at the left because at Le Mans they had to start outside of the car so they could start the car and put the car in gear at the same time and they still have the ignition there for memories.

The 996 are underrated gems, they’re every bit as Porsche as any other generation, they’re incredibly fun to drive, relatively easy to work on and because a lot of people don’t like the headlights, their price hasn’t skyrocketed like other Porsche generations.

Definitely pick one up before everyone catches on and they become impossible to find

Tbh, 996 991 is my favourite generation. Same as the 986 Boxster. They had something so simple and elegant in their design, the least amount of styling, just the overall iconic shape and nothing else that wasn't functional.
