For years I couldn't afford the high end garlands. I tried going online and everywhere I looked either out priced or sold out. I decided after last year I had to do something different this year. I found the real tough picks and used them as my garland for a minimal look with lights on my tv stand. It gives me a great start to what I wanted and I will add to it next year. I'm building a new collection.

I live in a studio apartment. I only have one lovely garland of beautiful red ornaments. My challenge is really 2 challenges: 1 is “where to hang” (entryway wall close to ceiling, over front door, in bathroom) and 2, “how and if to embellish based on where I hang it” (fabric ribbons, frosted white ornaments, bells) to fill it in.

Thank you Mel for sharing . I love decorating but sometimes it just doesn’t seem to come together. But with time and work I finally get to a point where I’m satisfied. Thank you for sharing the behind the scenes work. I purchased this mantle the first year you used it and it has been a staple for me as well. Last year I purchased a garland from Walmart and added it and some picks to give it some drama and it was beautiful. Love love love you and all your tips. Thank you so much.

Looks so natural Mel, I love it. But is true they are heavy, even without ornaments. Thanks for the tips. Think that when we decorate for Christmas even when is a garland or the tree, we could end not much happy with the result. But we can start again, or make adjustments😊

Love your videos!! I purchased the same cascading garland after seeing it in one of your videos a few years ago and have even given it as a gift. Love it, thank you! One of the things I do is lay it on my dining room table and do most of the fluffing and get it where I want it then transfer and attach it to my mantle where it then requires only a little extra fluffing. Helps if your mantle is higher and you don’t need your arms up in the air as long. ❤️
