I tested the S100 for a couple weeks a long side the Fantom FP-30 and Yamaha-45. The S100 samples/sounds were programmed with very fast decay so the sounds vanish to quickly compare to other brands (you will notice it if you go back and forth between the two sounds in the video. Between P-45 and S100, I would pick the P-45, but my favorite in this price range is the Roland FP-10.

As I heard, Yamaha P45 seem to provide clearer sound than that of the CDPS100

El sonido del Casio es más brillante, creo que depende del gusto del músico, tengo los dos modelos de esos pianos y los dos me encantan.

I really like the p45 sound quality. The problem seems to be the speakers position, because the sound goes down and feels less clear.

I have the slightly newer CDP-S110 which allegedly has a better piano sound but the rest is essentially the same instrument. I've played the piano since I was 9 and I have had many electric/digital pianos over the years. Bought my S110 for fun - for busking and occasional pub gigs as it's light and can run off 6 X AA batteries, not for serious recitals.

The action is fine, not too light, but does take some getting used to on faster runs/trills. Feels fairly clunky but you can dig into it. The action is not too noisy but like all digital keyboards you can hear the 'hammers' thumping away a bit but it's ok.

Piano sound decays too quickly but is ok. In a busy pub/bar nobody would notice.

Textured key surface - it's slightly too rough for my liking. It's not like any real piano I've ever played. It may smooth off slightly with age.

The other sounds/voices are ok - nothing special.

Bass notes on Grand Piano are very tinny/thin sounding - but I've heard similar on cheap acoustic uprights. It's because of the limited 64-note polyphony and small speakers. Because of the 64-polyphony, I do notice so some notes dropping out when using complex chords with sustain, but again I don't think it's an issue for the type of fun gigs I'll be doing.

It's light, compact and it won't cause a double-brace X-stand to wobble too much.

Are the Casio keys and action good in this model? The piano sample leaves much to be desired, but i'm gonna use it as a midi controller with good VST's, so that's of no concern to me.

Hi, how did you took the audio out of the Casio CDP s100 ??

Why is the sustain on casio is so short. Do you use pedal or is it just the piano sound came out like that?

I'm thinking about Casio cdp s100, Yamaha np12, Yamaha no 32 and a least Yamaha p45?
Which is better

If only the sustain is longer, this piano would gain better advantage compared to P-45. The piano sound of Casio all have short sustain on the lower end keyboards and digital pianos.

Did you make the fair test, by using the same method recording the voices?, Why did the sound of casio kind of bad, worse than i expected?
