My wife and I would like to stay in Chamonix early September 2025. We will do a few of your hikes. Will we need to rent a car or is there another option or hikes if we stay in the central part of town?

My husband and I are in our mid 60s we will be in Chamonix in May. We would love to find a high altitude hike that is not too challenging (5 miles or less). I've noticed several lifts are closed in May, but we plan to take the Aiguille du Midi. Maybe a hike from one of the Aiguille Midi stops? If anyone has suggestions, we would really appreciate the advice!
