The GR Corolla isn't available in Europe, so we flew all the way to South Africa to test the updated model at Toyota's GR HQ in Zwartkops, and we didn’t just take it for a casual spin—we pushed it to the limit on track alongside the entire GR lineup! With the GR Yaris, GR Supra and GT86 in the mix, we put Toyota’s hottest hatch through its paces to see if it deserves a place in Europe.

Five years ago, I never would have imagined that Toyota would be the last legacy manufacturer that actually makes proper fun driver's cars. :)
It's just sad what happened to Ford RS/STs and Renault RSs. :(
I still have some hope with Hyundai's N division and Toyota's GR for our driving future fun and WRC. :)

Im from SA, had the GR Yaris and changed to the GR Corolla. Both are amazing. Yaris for out and out race car. Corolla for practical race car. The corolla also feels better stock because the exhaust makes a huge difference. Stock Yaris is very quiet. If i win the lotto il have both again

In Australia, the updated GR Yaris and the updated GR Corolla have identical maximum power and maximum torque - 221kW (300bhp) and 400Nm. The GR Yaris is over 200kg lighter.

I get you all did the reverse grid for views, and excitement. But I’d rather see how fast the cars are compared to each other by seeing how big the gap would be at the end of an actual race. Haha love all the videos.

A Corrola GR in the UK could of been a good alternative to the likes of VW Golf GTI, Focus ST, and the discontinued Hyundai i30n.
