Original Quality Test

A quick test of rendering over 1920x1080 to get the 'Original Quality' option in YouTube. Recently YouTube has been rendering 1080p video badly, and any movement made the video very bad quality. This may be the solution, but be warned, it will require a good connection OR you will need to buffer the video first.

The original quality is immensely better than even 1080p. I really hope you start uploading this way Gopher! It's wonderful to not have the movement tearing in fullscreen.

Gopher, I'm a long time fan of your videos, and I have to say: You have almost if not never asked for any type of praise for your videos and hard work. I wouldn't mind at all for donating to you just because. The quality of your videos even when you started told me that you put time in your videos. That shows me how much you care. I'm not telling you to put up a donate button if it makes you feel wrong. I'm just saying I wouldn't mind donating to you just for the fact that you make videos for us

This looks pretty great. I can see more details in this video than I can in the 1080p ones and if I watch fullscreen it's less blurry than others as well. The only problem is the video stops to buffer occasionally like you said it could. I can see that being a minor irritation but I can get over it :)

I can now see everything clearly now. this is a huge improvement but as you said in the description, may have to wait to buffer

It's not in-my-face noticeable, but there is a pleasant difference. My connection is very good so that won't be a problem for me. I'm also excited to see what new effects you could throw in on your videos - I've worked with it before, (family member runs an editing business) and it has good degree of options.

Yep, distant objects in the woods are now far clearer. They used to blur out into the flora and i could never see what you had spotted until you focused in. Love the new quality (apart from the buffering)

My computer and internet connection can't make use of original and the 720p I normally watch at still seems the same as before. If it's better for you then go for it as anyone like me who can't watch the better still has the regular resolutions. On the other hand, for what I believe to be the majority of people, this extra effort wouldn't be realized anyway. Appreciate your dedication.

Looks much better as original, I would love to see future videos uploaded in that quality. My connection just barely scrapes by though on slow days I imagine I'll have troubles but I usually pre-load the your let's play episodes while I make some tea to enjoy while watching them anyway so I doubt that will be a problem.

I wasn't seeing much difference until you got to Riverwood - at which point the difference became MASSIVELY clear. It was crisp, crystal clear and looked very high quality around Riverwood, great improvement.

Well technically it can even reduce the image quality by a tiny amount. But that is not the issue. What is the issue is that YouTube detects the higher resultion file and then streams it back at a much higher bitrate. Four times bigger by the look of things, so the image is so much clearer.

On a side-note. I think a video series dedicated to finding a work-around to this problem for free would be very attractive(on a long-term basis) to inspiring video makers. A video series like that could pull in a lot of watchers. +you do it all so well. SO why not stick around and watch a lets play.

I tried upscaling my last video to 2048x1152 and it dose make a noticeable difference.

Original quality looks much better than standard 1080p, must fever compression artifact while watching moving scenes. Thumbs up for original quality.
