Did The NSA Create Bitcoin?

In this video, I discuss accusations that the NSA invented Bitcoin as a way for "the elites" to herd people into CBDCs (central bank digital currencies).

All of the evidence points in the opposite direction:

Bitcoin is freedom money, and will probably be the best way to protect your family finances.

WARNING: There are a number of scammers who are using my image and channel name to try to connect with my viewers on WhatsApp and other platforms to scam them. Just so you know, I will never refer you to "my personal trader" or try to connect with you personally to sell you something. I am trying to ban these scammers as quickly as they pop up. You can always recognize a scammer by clicking on the image and seeing how many videos he has. All of these guys have zero videos, while I have hundreds. I also now have a checkmark next to my name, so that you can distinguish the real Bitcoin University from the imposters. Follow me on Twitter @mattkratter

If the government created a global currency exit, with permissionless, trustless, transparent transactions on an immutable blockchain & gave users the private keys; then I'd say my tax dollars were well spent! Literally the governments greatest contribution to mankind.

The gov also invented the internet and a lot of other tech we use for peaceful reasons. So if they created it it doesn’t matter. What matters is it’s there and open source and the full node network effect is unstoppable at this point.

The real question is who bailed out Tether and allowed it to operate? It’s the federal reserve of Bitcoin and nobody is talking about it.

In order for the NSA to create BTC, someone in the government would need to be intelligent and forward thinking. So no, the NSA didn't create BTC

It's more likely a NSA employee created it (outside of work) rather than an Agency initiative, but whatevs neither here nor there

At this point it doesn’t even matter if the NSA “made” Bitcoin, they can’t do anything to stop it for good.

some people say that Satoshi might have been working for NSA before he invented bitcoin. Edward Snowden stated that NSA had many randomizers which had back door built into them, (backdoor gives a bad actor the ability to make malicious changes to the code and make changes to the bitcoin ledger) but the type of randomizer used by Satoshi didn’t have any backdoor, that is not a coincidence.
It might be possible that Satoshi was working for NSA and knew that the financial system is a scam and delivers wealth from poor and middle class to the rich and 1 percent, that is why he went rogue and invented the new form of digital money known as bitcoin.

I expected a better rebuke than this. How do we know all wallet creators are not nsa and all seed phrases are not known by nsa?

There's a great book recently published called "The Genesis Book: The Story of the People and Projects That Inspired Bitcoin". Goes in depth on some of these topics, really interesting.

Whether it's the NSA or CIA, I'm sure many here have heard the rumors. Thanks for taking the time to provide an in depth response to the rumor.

Not saying SHA-256 is insecure or backdoored, but SHA-256 is not just math, it is an algorithm. And yes, there can be backdoors in cryptographic algorithms. Even NIST when they were setting conditions for the AES competition stated that each team must submit a sworn statement that they did not insert any kind of backdoor in their candidate algorithm. For example, so-called S-boxes can practically conceal a backdoor. The backdoor might for example be a way to subtly weaken it in a way that you can break it using... math. All that said, even NSA found out that their own SHA0 was week, and so they created a more secure version SHA1, which they told everyone to use instead. So there is no need for paranoia regarding NSA and the SHA family.

The poster of this video’s argument collapsed for me at the very start. I stuck around to the end though. To categorically start running off names of the “elite” makes no sense to me at all. IMO he is not even close to mentioning who they are. I certainly don’t know. But I’m betting you can go much higher up the ladder. Without knowing who is pulling the strings you can’t know their plan because you can’t know their time frame. Any of you who trade for a living know what I am talking about. It’s like looking at a 1 minute chart and trying to determine what a powerful player is thinking who is controlling the yearly chart. In addition even if Satoshi Nakamoto is a real human who appears to be altruistic a blessing for humanity not knowing him you can’t know what his final game plan is. So too me this paper doesn’t rule the NSA or anyone else.

Topic suggestion:

There's a lot of buzz around Apple's M1/M2 cryptographic key vulnerability, and now China banning of Intel and AMD CPUs from government computers for apparently similar reasons. It has a lot of people spooked that their private keys could be lifted while signing a transaction.

Might be worthwhile to elucidate this issue for folks.

Thank you Matthew, perfect timing. This is all over Facebook currently, with fear-filled people saying things like ‘this has been my gut feeling about bitcoin all along’. Except, they know literally nothing about it beyond a meme!

2:00 first logical fallacy of yours. Government is not in control. They all simultaneously do what they are told in lockstep

Bitcoin has already been helpful to governments around the world. Firstly for their own currency plans. Secondly it will force more discussion of monetary policy.
