I buy a lot of thrift store games mostly for the components. I hit the thrift stores about twice a week. Chaz and Hunter have some excellent ideas and I never even thought about hitting the half-price books stores. Awesome discussion!

Thanks for the interview Chaz. Sorry I seem to bring a rain of thumbs down on vids, but I appreciate you taking the time to put this up! It was a nice blast from the past, and I still have a lot of fun thrifting.

My best find was a Wits and Wagers for 50 cents new in shrink.

I once saw a copy of Cornish Smuggler for five pound in a thrift shop... in the arms of someone going to buy it. That is literally all I've found other than a Ready Steady Cook board game that I bought just for the Ainsley Hariott component.

I know I’m really late to this video but I’ve had some great luck as well thrifting board games! I agree it is important to go frequently. Even if I just walk in for 2 min I’ll stop by a couple times a week to check. Anyways, have a good one!

My best find was at a Goodwill. Opened, unpunched Fantasy Flight Civilization for $1. Found many others at Goodwill as well. Maybe Chicago Goodwill > others?

Half-Priced Books is also known as Full (Amazon) Priced Games and is almost never thrifty... Value Village/Savers and Goodwill vary greatly by region/location... It is more important if they are in the better neighborhoods...

Oh Chaz, you fool, hahaha - glad you found it, eventually.

My mate (although he's no longer my mate when he does his latest "guess what I found!") trawls a good amount of charity shops and has lots of good luck. I think his best find was either brand-new, or played just once, complete Axis & Allies.(the new release of the main game), but there have been a bunch of other good finds, too. I did find a bunch of new-condition, unpunched games, like Kings & Things and some others, in a shop. They'd done their homework and had priced them up at about £20-30 (which is good, from the POV of earning money for the charity) so just got one that was a bit cheaper and looked interesting: Raid on St. Nazaire

£5 so about $7.20

I found a copy of Zombicide Season 1 that was mauled by a pack of postal workers for $40. I would have never bought it otherwise. Not sure it was a good deal at that price either. Lol.
