Good concise accurate advice mate. For those of us on top of all of these things constantly, it's still a nervous time for no real logical reason. Everyone craps a bit on the MOT, must be the same thing as on dentist day! :-)

That was an excellent shakedown of a motorcycle. In the us most States do not require any form of Motorcycle safety checks. It's great to see a video like this showing people what to do. Over here since repair is not necessary for a motorcycle to be on the street a lot of new people buying motorcycles can get stuck with a bike that is downright unsafe but its still street legal and registered. I would recommend anyone who was going to buy their first bike watch this video hands down. I will save it for future reference thank you I appreciate your work.

1mm on a bike just cars are 1.6 minimum tread depth in the UK for HGV's (above 3500kgs) is shown below; The tyre must have a minimum pattern depth of 1.0mm and scooters under50cc are just a visible tread pattern.

Just about the same here in the states, once a year. I as one welcome it, it give piece of mind that you haven't missed something yourself. Plus..., keeps the lazy one and forces them to fix their bikes and bring them up to par. lol  Ride Safe !!!

Alright D&P - nice little informative vid - I'll remember to watch this just before my MOT. A little experience that I had when I took the B6 in for MOT last year,  the indicators where fast, the tester said as long as it was between 60 & 120 flash's in 60 seconds it would be ok. Thats another bacon saving video Del :-) My bike is due its MOT soon and one of the exhaust joints is leaking (the exhaust is knackered) so its time to get it replaced. Just saved myself the price and arse ache of a retest by watching your video. Happy days Delboy

Very good over view of the M.O.T. How many times in the past have we just gone to the mot place and had it fail on a bulb or other silly thing. Everyone should do this a few weeks before the test so they can fix anything before the date.

Must be spring time inspection mine is due next week and I just found out that we have no decibel law when it comes to bikes..but the cops can still give you a noise violation ticket! Here they take it and you cant see what they do..is it the same there? Sweet info as always!!
