For the romantics only. Picture this: Caesars Palace Grand Ball Room, 1958. Deano was doing a one month gig there. He had just recorded and released this song. It was the first time he sang it live. He was having marriage troubles with Jeanne. She had not left him, but she was being pursued by one of the casino bosses and she was sitting at a table with him watching his show.
He had told the band and the lighting guys what to do. A spot light came on him and also on the table Jeanne was seated at. He started singing this song and slowly made his way off the stage and through the tables, and with exquisite timing, finished the song as he reached her and the two spotlights emerged. He reached out a hand and took one of hers, and kissed it. It brought the house down. All the men cheered and all the women wept. Imagine it.
His show was a sell out for a month and the song reached #2 on the charts.
