Mate btw, in most 4x4s you don't get "mud" "snow" sand" options. Its H or L..ie. what is provided on the GX460; reliance is placed on the driver to decide which to use when, generally H for sand/snow and L for are all the controls you will need in a 4x4. Also this is directly based on the Land Cruiser Prado, which also shares its platform with the 4runner/tacoma & Fortuner/hilux.

Plenty of other folks have already pointed out the common error that the GX 460 is based on the 4Runner. It isn't; it's based on the Land Cruiser Prado. We have a 2014 Luxury, just like this test vehicle, with 93K on it that we bought in Feb. 2020. We love the truck. Yes, it is more truck than we--or 99% of anyone else who buys one--needs. But, it's super-quiet and comfortable, and the build quality is impeccable. You buy one of these because you know it's overbuilt, and because it has a port-injected, normally-aspirated V8 that Toyota and Lexus have been building for years. This is not a truck for people who want to take chances on durability. It's for those of us who want that 100% guaranteed--not by a warranty, but by the way it was made (and maintained; ours was a one-owner, dealer-maintained, all service records example). It will tow anything we might decide to hook up to it, and it will take care of us through anything we could possibly encounter on a road trip to anywhere.

This guy no noting about the LexusGX460, this is base in the Toyota Prado this is one of the most 4x4 worthy vehicle in the planet, the only thing this Lexus lack is a rear locker, if you need a rear locker just buy one.

I have a 2011 GX460 and go off-road with the original HT tires and never had an issue with it, now I'm was thinking to buy 4 BF Goodrich AT KO2 or KM3 to make it more capable, this rig is really comfortable, have good torque, very reliable, silent and off-road worthy

And I like the Gx but the little to no cargo space is what kills this vehicle for me.

The GX is not based on the Toyota 4Runner. It is actually based on a Toyota that´s not sold in the US called Toyota Prado

We take ours off-road all the time! It is a very capable vehicle.
