Wow, thats a super interesting method of teaching fishtails. Ive found it really helps a lot to tell people to focus on the upswing. Its the advice i gave my friend which helped fishtailing click for them with less than an hour of practice. But that kind of feedback of where it clicks for someone can be priceless for teaching purposes.

Only bc I had a hard coach and we had to learn our routines really fast this video made me mad cause of how slow it is but now I look at it a couple years later and this is pretty nice

Beautiful! I wish I would have learned fishtails like this!! I had a teacher that called them "Idiot Twirls"...not because they are so easy to learn, but when they suddenly "click in" and work for you...you feel like such an IDIOT!! Forty years later, I am still learning new ways to teach young folks! Thank you so much.

I'm a juggler contact/non contact I've been learning these so I can incorporate them into a devil stick routine it took me about 40 min to pick this technique up I had a rough version at 20 minutes but got it smooth around 40.

It's been a very long time since I've done any sort of baton twirling since I was a kid in cheerleading practice.
I thought about it just seconds ago because I have a stick and I was just kind of twirling it like I would the old batons. Then I remembered I don't remember how to do it anymore.
