The slight error in magazine insertion is part of what makes it realistic. He had the magazine slightly twisted out of alignment when trying to insert it. It’s very rare that anyone is able to get a magazine perfect the first try. This is the stuff that makes this guy a really good animator. Plus the little thumb waggle of him trying to get a better grip on the forestock when he changed the selector from burst to auto, because he had to brace for control. Details people, details.

fun fact: in the user manual for the mp5 it is actually recommended to slap the bolt as that both gives the best chance of the round loading properly and it keeps the guns bolt from getting stuck easily

Fantastic stuff. There is a subtle art to good viewmodels and you nailed it. Animation is amazing but even beyond that. The framing of the gun in view, its orientation, perspective. This can easily be done wrong, leaving the gun looking awkward and strange if not orientated right. Its all perfect.
