Coraline by Neil Gaiman Book Review & Lyra's Books Edition Flip-Through!

Hi everyone! Today's video is a book review of Coraline by Neil Gaiman. Surprisingly, despite my hesitancy, this became one of my favorite novellas. I loved the animated movie, and I didn't expect I would love the book. Consider me pleasantly surprised! I also do a detailed flip-through of the Lyra's Books Edition of Coraline in today's video. I have read and loved American Gods and The Ocean at the End of the Lane as well as Gaiman's retellings of Norse myths (based closely on the Prose Edda), and I'm currently reading The Sandman. Though I have not yet read the book, I have some special memories from watching the film adaptation of Coraline with my daughter in a theater. Thank you for sharing this, Petrik!

I personally love Neil Gaiman's work. The Sandman is one of my favourite pieces of storytelling in any medium. A must read short story is in my opinion "A Study in Emerald". It is free on his website and included in one of his several short story collections. And for the extra Gaiman experience - he reads most of his books himself for the audiobooks and that man could read me anything and I would like it.

Neil Gaiman’s work is so extensive that we can’t just decide by one or two work that it’s not for me. He writes everything. Literally. From screen script to play and essay about writing.

I think I will always prefer consuming Neil's stories via audio, as he narrates them himself, but holy smokes this edition is also an entire experience in its own! I am glad that this was such a pleasant surprise for you, I have no doubts you are going to love his other works as well!

I loved Caroline❤ The Ocean at the End of the Lane, The Graveyard Book, Sandman, Stardust and Art matters are favorite of mine❤ Can't recommend Sandman enough as audiobook! Or rather audio play (in 3 acts for now) with greatest cast❤ Such a great production! It didn't click with me as a comics, but I kept finding reasons to listen to audio drama every single minute 😂

Coraline is one of my favorite Gaiman novels. Some other favorites are: American Gods, The Graveyard Book, Ocean at the End of the Lane, and Sandman. Can't wait for you to check out more Gaiman!

I recommend American Gods and The Graveyard Book.

The Graveyard Book is another shorter title and perhaps more of a younger reader target but it’s really good.

American Gods is lengthy but a really interesting read about how American settlers brought their gods to America with them.

I read and loved the Graveyard book last year as part of a reading challenge. I read Coraline last month and loved that too. I'm 60 this year, so these books definitely suit all ages!

The only work I loved from this author so far, but I'll persist with "Neverwhere" and "The Graveyard Book". As soon as I finished reading "Coraline" I shared it with my husband with the help of the animated movie.

I gave Coraline to my daughter 2 years ago as her first book every book I've ever read by Neil has been bad ass American Gods is one of my all-time favorites he doesn't write a lot of books anymore Sandman is one of the best graphic novels ever, I'm reading The Bitter Crown by Justin Lee Anderson keep up the great videos
