I have trek marlin 4 and say rip for my forks

With a cheap set of old rock shox the trek marlin 5 can be a competitive bike

Also all marlins have the same frame so if you build a marlin 4 to be really good it could be as nice or more nice than a marlin 8

i own this and a trek session 8.8, it does not hold a candle to the session on the downhill, but a great little bike for $600

You should chuck a manitou markhor 29 fork on there. I have it and a couple of my friends have it too and it holds up great.

The only thing that turned me away from the Marlin is the lack of the internal seat post cable feeds on the seat tube - at least on the Marlins that I looked at.

I just got one I upgraded from a Huffy from Acadamy and I love mine I can really tell the quality difference.

Rather save up 1000€ and get a ktm peak xt
