The concept of TIME gets lost on guitar players? No shit, my friend! LT, if you become the guy on Youtube who reminds us that EVERYTHING is about time and groove...well, you'd be doing something better than 99% of the "jazz guitar static" here on Youtube. We've already got too many people talking about the mathematics of harmony while saying we "just gotta feel" the rhythm and groove. Keep on keeping on with the great videos!

So helpful for me - I can play solo heads pretty well, but the solo improvising part is challenging for me, and your ideas feed right into that. Keep it up!

I get nervous when I play jazz guitar because of the heavy history and virtuosity that came before. I often start mindlessly noodling. I like how you focus on phrasing to break it up. It relaxes me to play this way. Great lessons- thanks so much!

Great advice! Thank you Larry! I’ve been practicing my soloing! With a chord track or a drum track and without any tracks. It’s so hard to keep time. I usually end up playing rubato! Two great tunes for call and responses that I practiced is No Blues or Sonny moon for two! I have a hard time remembering the changes especially that I don’t play in a band so I have to remember to play them. It’s coming but it’s hard work. Bepob!! 🎸🫶🏾
