Just set it up this way and will test this tomorrow! I’m a fan of snap focus with shutter button on my GRII and always had spot on focused pics. I find it weird that the GRIII is less “snappy” and has slower focusing…Also the thumb grip is annoying with Fn used as a back focus button. The GRII had a better grip IMO.

But you are giving the camera all the creative decisions. Just use your phone if you don't want to have control over depth of field or motion blur
