The S50pro-wireless-preamplifier is more interesting as it has a digital out to allow an outboard DAC. I purchased one as a decent replacement for a chromecast audio

Thank you for another good review. It’s a very flexible streaming device as you say. It’s a pity that the amplifier is not high quality, but it’s made to suit a lower fidelity customer. Is the amplifier class D? Although class D can be implemented well, a good class A or AB amplifier would make all the difference to sound quality. I guess that at the price point it can’t be all things for all people.
