Absolutely. Also Mary Fields aka “Stagecoach Mary”. She was the first US woman postal carrier, and she was Black as well. Amazing story I’m too drunk to get into tonight but I hope she gets a movie too. A real Wild West character who made a real difference within the US Postal Service

Awesome! There are some great stories about Marshall Bass Reeves. I just finished reading “Black Gun, Silver Star”, which turned out to be a scholarly survey of writings and stories about his life rather than a biography, so not quite as exciting as one might like, but there are some amazing tales there!

Bass Reeves was the inspiration for the Lone Ranger and actually brought in over 3, 000 criminals with the help of his Native American partner. His story is briefly told in the TV series "Timeless"....

He’s also related distantly, and I mean distantly related to a hockey player in the NHL, Ryan Reaves. He’s bass reeves great-great-great grandson. Ryan Reaves has said his grandfather’s father changed the ee to ea. I don’t like much of ryan Reaves playing style, but he sure does live up to the tall tales of his great-great-great grandfather. Guy is a total badass!
