They actually had a recall because lots of trucks had transfer case bolts left un torqued from the factory

Do you replace that OD housing or the whole transmission?

Did you change the overdrive unit out. I just duscovered the same issue on my 01 cummons 4x4. Loose bolts broke the housing around overdrive where transfer case mounts

I just had this happen on my 04.5
I only had one flange holding it together and the bolt was very loose. Could almost spin by hand. Now I'm wondering why my previous owner had the trans out.. rip lol
