Through my wedding/8year relationship being called off, death of my father, meeting my now wife, and the birth of my 2 sons, I've always come back to eyedea to get grounded back to my true self. So much has changed, yet the songs still make the hairs on my neck stand up. Still finding new meaning in lyrics as life goes on.

i actually grew up listening to eyedea because my mom used to be friends with him. She grew up in The twin cities specifically St. Paul. I never got to hear the story of exactly how they met but they were both addicts so i have my assumptions. They actually did acid together in my current room. he drew his tag in my closet but it got painted over when i re did my room( i wasn’t the one to do it). Unfortunately my mom passed away but i always come back and listen to this and think about her. It was her favorite song of his as i think the lyrics resonated with her. i have many good memories of us listening to it together and plan on getting a lyric or 2 from it tattooed soon. whenever I’m walking around the city and see an “eyedea is alive sticker” it’s like a lil reminder that she’s always with me:)

I've gotta say, Eyedea's lyrics, flow and delivery are incredible, but I feel like not enough people give Abilities credit for what an amazing job he did putting together the music Eyedea's rapping over. From the fading piano to the droning bass, the fuzzy distorted part of the chorus, right to that beautifully crunchy guitar tone at the end. I can't think of any possible way that he could've crafted a better backdrop to this song both melodically and themadically. Both of them are/were the masters of their craft.
