I am using the same nRF24L01 and I have to say it's fantastic! Probably the best cheap option for high distances with 2.4GHz. Love it! Also, a cool thing would be to add an LCD or something, so you can talk to people if they see it.

I have demonstrated my Hubsan to some kids that saw me flying it down the local park. Always good to encourage kids into hobbies.

Would it be feasible to do an rc car with an onboard hotspot to receive instructions for controls with an unlimited range ? (Besides batteries needing to be charged of course for power)

Try getting a lower fpv frequency. That would give better penetration. Cool project 👌

How much did the car cost? I'm thinking about doing something similar to this and wonder around how much a car like this costs. As in, are $30 cars good enough or should I go for like the $100 or $300 ones?
