Hello everyone,
I'm sorry I was gone for so long.
Ae Hawa is one of my favourite songs I've ever written. It all started when I got covid and got locked up in my room. The transition from locked up in the house to can't leave my room drove me completely insane. So there I was, sitting on my window sill, legs dangling when I felt a strong gust of wind. This filled me with many emotions - happy? Yes. Relieved because of how hot it was at the time? Absolutely. But, the strongest of those emotions was envy. Envy that the wind was free and I, in fact, was not. So like any normal person would do, I wrote a song about it. Ae Hawa is my love letter to the wind. It's my plea to the wind to let me experience just a smidge of what she gets to.
Working on this song was just so much fun. We went to some beautiful places and shot some incredibly "independent" footage. I know this is really cliche but I really do hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as I've enjoyed making it. Listen to it, make it yours. The best thing that can come out of this is if people have their own stories related to the song.
I have so much love and gratitude for each and every one of you. I'll see you in the next one x
