For those wondering, DNA tests were done (September 28 2023 I believe), Peter Steward Ney was found to not be Michel Ney. Unfortunately the great Marshal was in fact executed by firing squad in 1815.

I think Ney died in 1815, haven't reviewed the sources or followed the paper trail but it seems quite unbelievable that he lived abroad considering what happened to him after the final fall of Napoleon.

plural of cannon can be either cannon or cannons...however, saying "captured 10 cannons" in a military narrative is not proper... say "captured 10 cannon". also, napoleon stayed more than a few weeks in Moscow....try 5 weeks...way too long.
