This is one of the things aside from his intensity and his move set looking almost real at times that made Joe an immediate fan favorite of TNA and a household name among wrestling fans when TNA was the second biggest company, because Joe wasn’t just all brawn and no brains, he was a clever tactician that was hard to trick which made heels like Christian getting a cheap win that much more frustrating which helped the story being told. Good character work from Joe since the early days.
