Prof. Jan Kregel (Levy Institute, Bard College, NY), leading Post-Keynesian economist, talks about the causes and consequences of the Greek crisis, and the ineffectiveness and side-effects of austerity.
'Rethinking the State' is a video project coordinated by Prof. Mariana Mazzucato (SPRU/University of Sussex). The project is funded by two research grants by the Ford Foundation and INET. Every Wednesday, for 10 weeks (27/3/13 - 22/5/13), we will be airing interviews with international economists who have a critical understanding of the relationship between the State, finance, innovation, and growth. And on how to get out of the austerity trap. This interview has been recorded in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) during a workshop on innovation and development policy at the Brazilian State Development Bank (BNDES).
