Vienna Boys Choir 2016

For the first time in Indonesia, the Vienna Boys Choir will perform its full concert in Ciputra Artpreneur Theater, on 15 and 16 October 2016.

It was more than 600 years ago that the Vienna Boys Choir started singing in Europe for the imperial court, the masses, concerts for state and private functions. In 1918, the Choir made their apprearances in public. Great musicians like Mozart and Salieri, composers Gallus and Schubert and brothers Joseph and Michael Haydn have all worked or sang with the boys.

Today, the Choir is about 100 Choristers from 30 different countries between the ages of 10 to 14 years, forming four touring groups. They perform 300 concerts each year in front of close to 500,000 people.

In recent years, they have expanded their program to include performances with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, The Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic and the Pittsburg Symphony Orchestra, amongst others.

Conducting them for this concert is Italian Choirmaster Manolo Cagnin.
