Anastasios "Tassos" Isaac (Greek:Αναστάσιος "Τάσος" Ισαάκ) (1972 – 11 August 1996), was a Greek Cypriot refugeewho participated in a civilian demonstrationagainst the Republic of Turkey's military occupation of the northern part of the Republic of Cyprus. The demonstrator's demand was for the complete withdrawal of Turkish troops from the island, and the return of Cypriot refugees to their homes. Isaac was killed by a mob of Turkish people in the United Nations Buffer Zone in Cyprus.
Σολωμού; 1970 – 14 August 1996) was aGreek Cypriot refugee who was murdered after being shot in the head by a Turkish officer while trying to climb a flagpole in order to remove a Turkish flag from its mast in theUnited Nations Buffer Zone near Deryneia,Cyprus.The killing occurred in the aftermath of the funeral of Solomou's cousinTassos Isaac, who was also murdered a few days earlier by Turkish nationalists belonging to the militant Grey Wolves organization.
