★★ Why are dolphins always introduce themselves?
★★ How does the "inner life" of whales look like?
★★ What information can marine mammals share?
★★ Do they have different cultural traditions?

These questions will be answered in his lecture from the series "Great Questions in Krakow" by one of the greatest contemporary researchers of marine mammals - Vincent Janik, professor at the University of St Andrews and director of the Scottish Ocean Institute. It was his team that managed to explain the mystery of the names of dolphins, which has fascinated biologists and cognitive scientists for almost half a century, and in many other publications described social behavior and other communication features of many marine mammal species - famous whale songs, amazingly rich seal vocalisations and a whole range of dolphin whistling. Professor Janik also takes part in a loud scientific debate on the cultural message of animals and investigates the emotional life and mental abilities of marine mammals.

Big Questions in Krakow is a joint project of the Center for Copernicus for Interdisciplinary Studies of the Jagiellonian University and the City of Krakow. Its goal is to show science as an important area of human culture. Together with our guests we reflect on contemporary answers to the questions that people have been asking for ages and which have repeatedly inspired the creation of many literary, musical and visual arts.

Sound needs some polishing, but as for the first `en` content it's ok. I'm more concerned with a gross frame drop. _perhaps re-upload could fix that_
